Aside from making a huge dent in our Christmas shopping (please clap), I treated myself to a few purchases this sale season which I’m going to list out in this blog post to those that are curious.
Dries Van Noten heels
Okay! So, my discovery of Dries Van Noten shoes was nothing short of a moment of enlightenment. Where have they been all my life?! Granted, not the most comfortable in my collection (I do have a LOT of podiatrist designed heels in my wardrobe now!), but they are stunning and unlike any pair of heels I own. You know the small collection of heels that sit outside the fitting rooms of boutiques for you to pop on when trying something special? Well two of my favourites, Anna Quan and Eupheme, both have incredible fitting room shoes at their respective showrooms, each with a pair of heels from Dries Van Noten. It’s not the most common way of discovering a designer but that now forms part of my history with the brand.
I bought a pair of the cut out heels with their signature curved heel – a stunning silhouette. Parlour X had just started their sale and there was only one pair left in the colour I was after and it was IN MY SIZE. It was meant to be.

Merit Beauty make up
I was recently gifted three Merit Beauty products to try (now that they ship to Australia – yay!), and I’ve completely fallen in love with all of them. I was given this cream blush in Cheeky, this matte lipstick in Classic and this highlighting balm in Bounce and I totally get the hype around the brand. They kicked off their Black Friday sale earlier this week with 20% off everything (!!) so I took advantage and placed a chunky order which includes this set (which is already discounted, plus I scored an additional 20% off that – huzzah!), I also bought another lipstick in Baby and this eyeshadow in Mid Century. I placed my order on Tuesday, and I’m expecting the postie to deliver all my goodies in another week’s time.
The last time I was this excited about a makeup brand was when I discovered Westman Atelier a few years ago. The Baby Cheeks cream blush and Contour Stick have been a mainstay in my everyday makeup routine. Merit Beauty has a very similar approach to Westman Atelier including with the texture of the products I’ve tried so far (only Merit is a tad friendlier on the wallet compared to WA!).
Anna Quan pieces
And to wrap up this wrap-up, it’ll come as no surprise to you that I shopped the Anna Quan sale. Anna Quan continues to claim a lot of digital space across my socials as well as physical space in my wardrobe. I wrote a dedicated blog post about the awesome sale (that’s still going btw), and I ended up buying this top, this dress and this dress. I shared a try-on and my initial thoughts over on TikTok:
If you made it this far – well done! Thanks for spending part of your day with me! And if you’re interested in seeing a list of the things I own that are currently on sale (as best as I could keep up with anyhow!), then you can check out this blog post.
Thanks for stopping by!
