It’s the third week of December, and the trees are lit, the stockings are hung, and your one coworker got absolutely obliterated again at the office holiday party. Which means there’s only one thing left to do before clocking out for the festive season: Vote in our annual bracket to determine the year’s best-dressed man. And for 2024, we’re giving this most prestigious of tournaments a fresh new name. Welcome, one and all, to the GQ Style Championships.
The Quarterfinals, 12/17
And just like that, Round One is in the books. In this first go-around, industry vets Daniel Craig and Colman Domingo sailed over newcomers Kit Connor and Omar Apollo, respectively. Reluctant fashionista Jacob Elordi bested retired tunnel-fit legend Kyle Kuzma, serving the injured athlete another tough blow during his already-sidelined season. Meanwhile, seasoned style gods A$AP Rocky and Tyler, The Creator claimed victory over their respective opponents, casual king Jeremy Allen White and model influencer Lucky Blue Smith. In a battle of bare-armed formalwear, Lewis Hamilton beat out Barry Keoghan, while Kendrick Lamar continued his year-long victory lap by dancing over best-dressed wide receiver Stefon Diggs to take the W. And in the unlikely matchup of British actor versus Canadian chef—Jonathan Bailey and Matty Matheson—ended in Bailey’s favor. We like to think Wicked’s Fiyero and The Bear’s Neil Fak would still have fun going vintage shopping together.
Next up, we’ve got a fascinating set of quarterfinal matchups. Voters must choose between fellow Bottega Veneta celebrity ambassadors Elordi and A$AP, forcing a rift in the luxury-PR space-time continuum. In a matchup of the fashionable Brits, Daniel Craig will face off against Jonny Bailey, while Colman Domingo goes tête-à-tête with LewHam. And in the final quadrant, two of rap’s most stylish MCs, Kendrick and Tyler, will battle it out.
Voting is now open on GQ’s Instagram Stories, where it will continue for the next 24 hours. Go cast your vote for your faves, and then check back here tomorrow to see how things shake out. May the sartorial odds be ever in their favor.
