Where Are Aaron Rodgers’ Brothers Now?

Aaron Rodgers has garnered headlines for his complicated relationship with his family. Now, it seems like the door is opening up for him to talk to his brothers and parents.

In his new Netflix docuseries, Aaron Rodgers: Enigma, Aaron talked about ending the silent treatment between his family. “People ask me, ‘Is there hope for reconciliation?’” he said in the series, released on December 17, 2024. “I say, ‘Yeah of course. Of course.’ I don’t want them to fail, to struggle, to have any strife or issues. I don’t wish any ill will on them at all. It’s more like this — we’re just different steps on a timeline of our own journeys.”

Despite reports that his relationship with Olivia Munn was the cause of the rift, Rodgers denied the accusations. “She said the family was dysfunctional before she met Aaron, which is bull,” Ed told O’Connor, per TMZ. “We were going to all of his games; we were staying at his house. We had a great relationship. Nothing bad was going on.” For Aaron’s part, he told O’Connor that “his family issues are deep-rooted” and it’s not Munn’s fault. So what have his brothers said about the rift?

Jordan Rodgers

Jordan Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers’ younger brother. He was a professional football player turned sport commentator and starred in JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette, whom he later married.

In Aaron Rodgers: Engima, Aaron pointed out the time his brother starred in the show and didn’t invite him nor his girlfriend at the time Olivia Munn to the show. “And what do they do? They go on a bulls–t show and leave two empty chairs,” the New York Jets player recalled. “They all agreed this was a good thing to do, to leave two empty chairs at a stupid dating show that my brother just went on to get famous — his words, not mine. That he ended up winning. But a dinner that was during the [football] season, I was never asked to go to. Not that I would’ve gone.”

He also talked about the strain with his younger sibling over time. “It wasn’t like I was super duper close with everybody in the family. I was close with my little brother,” Aaron recalled. “But in actuality, it goes back to stuff from high school that kind of made me feel distant. Stuff in college, stuff post-college.”

Jordan Rodgers commented on his ongoing feud with his brother on the show. “My middle brother won’t be there, Aaron. Like I said, I have a great relationship with my brother Luke. Me and Aaron don’t really have that much of a relationship. It’s just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life and I’ve chosen to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother,” Jordan explained. “Yeah, it’s not ideal and I love him and I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in his shoes and have the pressure he has, the demands from people that he has. Don’t have hard feelings against him, it’s just how things go right now.”

Things took a turn for the worse at the end of 2018 after Aaron Rodgers posted a video talking about the California wildfires, including how many people had been affected near his hometown. Jordan took offense to his words, retweeting it and writing, “PLEASE DONATE, SPREAD AWARENESS & SEND LOVE. But when your Mom is home alone during the fires, car packed ready to evacuate, & you miss the fundamental first step of compassion; calling your parents to make sure they are safe…. Everything else just feels like an act,” with brother Luke adding “Smells like cowardice this morning….”

Luke Rodgers

Luke Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers’ older brother. The two used to have a close relationship with each other when Aaron founded his business Pro Merch which included Aaron’s likeness on t-shirts, which he reportedly was not a big fan of. However, the rift started to expand when Aaron didn’t appear as best man in former college teammate and roommate Francis Blay-Miezah’s wedding. The New York Jets player reportedly backed out when he found out his parents were attending

Luke shared photos from the wedding and seemingly targeted his brother as it was his last straw, including hashtags such as “#truefriendsshowup.” Per Aaron, who spoke to O’Connor for the book, Blay-Miezah did not understand “the complexity of the whole situation” regarding his family’s falling out.

Though there’s been big rifts within the family, Luke acknowledged his brother’s talent. “I think he’s got a lot left in the tank,” Luke told TMJ4 at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis at the time. “Quarterback is such a cerebral position that even as you age — look what Tom Brady was able to do, your arm may start to deteriorate, Aaron’s hasn’t. Your feet may slow down, I don’t think he’s slowed down either.”

“It’s hard not talking to your brother,” he confessed. “It’s not fun. It sucks.”
