Hi all!! My partner and I are very close to putting in an offer on a home in the north Wells Branch area. The home is located in the Willow Run neighborhood of the Bratton Glen HOA. (We’re also a bit nervous about living in an HOA as we don’t want to feel surveilled). I’m seeing online that the home is zoned for “Austin 2 mile ETJ”. From my research it sounds like we won’t be able to vote in city elections (like voting for Austin mayor) and will not be able to use City of Austin utilities. Can anyone confirm if that’s correct? Does anyone live in this area and have any thoughts for us (e.g. do you like living here, anything we should be aware of, etc?). We’re both young professionals, I work downtown and he works in Williamson county so the location seems like it would be a good fit. Appreciate any thoughts or tips!!!
