Sunday night, 6:30pm, Stassney and Teri Road. You hit a pedestrian and kept driving. She died surrounded by strangers. I, along with her biological brother, didn’t find out until the next day. Thanks to you, I won’t associate this time of year with Veterans’ Day with all the cheesy specials and temporary social media profile pictures. I’ll associate it with my best friend dying on the side of the street less than a mile away from home because you couldn’t bother slowing down and you sure as hell didn’t render aid.
She was a part of my life over twenty years. The last time I’ll now ever have seen her was a week ago. She was coming home from work. Strangers from the apartments nearby gathered around her to tell her she was loved as she was dying because you killed her. I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. Her brother’s family didn’t get a chance. None of her family or friends got the chance.
I hope that night haunts you from now until the day you get to meet her. You deserve to meet that day completely alone.
If any of the rest of you know this person of even some details of them or their vehicle, don’t tell me. Please tell law enforcement.
