December is always an inherently busy month – and the best dresses are those that will see you through festive gatherings, work parties, dinners; whatever might be in the calendar. New Year’s Eve is the main reason I’d be tempted to invest in a new (or vintage) dress. My birthday falls on 31 December, so I’m always on the lookout for something to wear in the weeks prior.
For some reason, it feels harder to shop for a dress during this period – the options feel like they’re endless and, compared to other times of the year when I usually have a clear idea of what I want, I find myself lost for styling ideas. Then, there’s the busy postage period, which requires forward planning to ensure the dress will arrive with plenty of time.
I plan to bid adieu to 2024 and welcome 2025 in a black minidress – a vintage one, to be precise, and timeless enough for me to wear it again and again. On my search, I’ve also come across some great vintage maxi and midi styles, as well as dresses covered in embellishments.
