Strange man at Triangle P&R

A strange, uncanny, and kind of surreal experience happened to me while at the Triangle park and ride station today. And I was wondering if I’m in any sort of actual trouble or if I was just approached by a crazy person?

Context: I normally park my car here as I commute to school to UT Austin from the station using the bus so that I do not have to worry about finding parking at school. Today I had a late night at school, but I was not worried as I have left my car parked there later than the hours of operation various times and have never had a problem. There has never been any sort of ticket placed on my car or anything of that matter. On top of this, there is numerous signage throughout the designated parking area, reserving that parts of the garage as a CapMetro public parking space.

When I finally arrive at my car from my late night at school, a man in a gray blazer and a green T-shirt with a plaid button up underneath, jeans, and boots comes up to me and asks me a strange question. “Do you happen to be Vietnamese by any chance?” He looked and seemed important so I obliged his question and answered that I was Filipino not Vietnamese. Then began a series of questions trying to make sense of why I was parked in the spot, asking where I was coming from, where I was going to, and if I knew who the parking garage was owned by. I know that the facility itself is completely owned and established by Triangle Residencies, but I also know that it is designated as a public park-and-ride during the day so I gave him this information. When I gave him all of this information, he began to verbally disagree with me saying that there are no such signs that it is designated as a park-and-ride there is no such thing as a park-and-ride and that the garage is saved for only residents (not true). I continue to try to explain to him that it is designated as a public parking space during the day, but he would not budge, and then began condescending me saying that he is supposedly the owner of Triangle Residencies, and is the “king of Filipinos” and that every car that was parked there was allowed to park there only because they had permits. At the end, because I’m already tired and want to go home, I concede and just give him the benefit of the doubt and say I understand, but he doesn’t leave until after threatening me that he will call to have my car towed the next time I park there “in his spot” and even took note of my license plate. He ended his little spiel with a series of more condescending questions asking if I “understood”, asking me if I know what is going to happen if I park there again, etc.

I am now starting to wonder if I need some sort of public parking permit to be able to use that facility as a park and ride in the first place? Was he actually the owner of the residencies? Or was I just unfortunately approached by a crazy person?

Is there a way for me to get any answers?

TL;DR parked a little over the hours of operation at Triangle park and ride and got scolded off in a weird way, wondering if I am in trouble or got approached by a rando.
