Sandbanks partners AFC Bournemouth to supply pre-match apparel for players

Sustainable luxury fashion brand Sandbanks has announced a new partnership with Premier League football club AFC Bournemouth, which will see it provide a range of outerwear and apparel for players to wear as they arrive for home and away matches.

Current AFC Bournemouth players Antoine Semenyo and Lewis Cook have been drafted in to model the Sandbanks ‘Branksome Long Puffer Jacket’ (£845), the ‘Clifftop Zip Pocket Gilet’ (£325) and the ‘Merino Wool Crew Neck Jumper’ (£165), among other pieces.

Sandbanks was founded by Wayne Collins, Sam Harman and former professional footballer Jamie Redknapp in 2019. The brand name presumably stems from the small peninsula at the mouth of Poole Harbour in Dorset of the same name, which is close to the home of AFC Bournemouth.

Wayne Collins said: “We are thrilled to be entering into a partnership with AFC Bournemouth. As a local brand who are passionate about the south coast, we are united by our location and are delighted to provide a range that the team can be proud of as they enter both the Vitality Stadium (AFC Bournemouth’s home ground) and the iconic stadiums throughout the Premier League.”

Renowned for its expertise in crafting luxury outerwear, Sandbanks has quickly established itself, offering premium and sustainable clothing “designed to endure the elements with style and sophistication”.

Sandbanks’ products are made almost entirely from recycled and regenerated materials, created from post-consumer plastic waste found in the oceans and landfill.

Perhaps best known for his days playing for Liverpool, Jamie Redknapp – who is also a brand ambassador and is on Sandbanks’ board of directors – started his career playing for AFC Bournemouth in 1990. He’s also now an established football pundit on Sky Sports.

Another link to the area for the Redknapp family is Jamie’s father, Harry, who both played for AFC Bournemouth from 1972 to 1976 and managed the club from 1983 to 1992. It’s also well known that his luxury home is on Sandbanks.

In terms of other high-profile exposure, the brand has been worn by the likes of former Liverpool player and fellow Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Carragher, as well as former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, former cricketer and TV presenter Freddie Flintoff, actress Michelle Keegan, and Happy Mondays’ lead singer Shaun Ryder – who wore one the brand’s overshirts on The Last Leg.
