Contemporary fashion retailer Reiss has opened a new 3,933 sq ft store at Gatehead’s Metrocentre, joining a host of other new openings, upsizes and refits at the shopping centre.
Located in the lower Red Mall, the new store includes the region’s only Reiss childrenswear collection, while also delivering its premium collection of “timeless fashion” and wardrobe staples across men’s and womenswear.
Aside from Reiss, KIKO Milano has opened a 1,624 sq ft in the Red Mall, while Moss has also opened its brand new and refurbished store – following fellow Red Mall tenant River Island, which has also completed a revamp of its 25,500 sq ft space, a stone’s throw away from the recently opened 6,233 sq ft Mango store – its largest in the North East region.
Premium fashion brand Sosandar has also recently made its regional debut with a 2,047 sq ft store in the Platinum Mall at the Metrocentre.
Ben Cox, Director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, Asset Managers of Metrocentre, said: “2024 has been a year full of tenant investment, with our accessible premium fashion and retail hubs continuing to move from strength to strength with major signings, upsizes, and comprehensive refits.
“Reiss has been a target brand for us for quite some time, and to have them open a store here really demonstrates the quality of our line-up. It is a reflection of our leasing strategy which nurtures existing retailers to support growth while attracting new names that continue to enhance the retail and visitor experience.”
The Metrocentre has also seen investment within its Blue and Green Malls, including a new store for Go Outdoors, plus a refurbishment for Pandora.
Additionally, a Newcastle United club store is expected to open in the coming days, and a comprehensive refit for long-standing tenant, Boots, is due to start in the new year – highlighting the continuous investment across the scheme.
