I am writing this in collaboration with pipninja , in the interest of building our community, and standing united in the trials and tribulations that come before us. We approach this together to turn the page for the regiment and the community, devoid of self-serving intent.
I stepped into this lively and devoted community over a year ago, fueled by an intense passion for both Halo, and the art of cosplay. This journey has been marked with triumphs and challenges I have faced as a member of the 405th Infantry. It was my deep-seated love for the franchise and the artistic inspiration it offered that led me here. However, I found something even greater – a welcoming community and family united by a shared dream, offering a sense of home that many of us were, and still are seeking.
It is that home that is now in peril. This last year has tested our collective strength. Changes have led to heated debates, and moments of disillusionment. We have seen friends decide to part ways with the Infantry, a phenomenon that has been felt worldwide. Nonetheless, my dedication to the initial dreams and values of the 405th Infantry and the Pacific Regiment stand and remain firm! These values are the foundation of our community and will continue to lead us into the future.
In trying to navigate these changing times and difficult situations, I have reached out to other members in the Pacific Regiment to formulate a plan to rebuild our regiment. Today, as we both post before you, Pip and I have decided to nominate each other for RCO in the upcoming elections, with the intent of serving side by side as RCO and RXO. We want to stand united on the mission, and stay true to the values of the 405th Infantry Division, while giving the members of the Pacific Regiment the choice of who they want to see lead the charge towards a better tomorrow. We also encourage other members to take up the mantle, and put in their own nominations.
We aim to boost recruitment, boost a sense of unity, in order to allow and inspire our community to flourish. We want to strengthen our connections with showrunners, and convention executives within the Pacific Regiment, as this is essential for creating more opportunities for our members’ talents to be recognized and showcased. We want to provide resources; and support local battalions both new and old within the Pacific!
We want to do all of this while committing to creating an all-inclusive environment that places value in all its members from all walks of life. We will encourage respectful conversations and healthy discourse as avenues to realizing our full potential within the 405th’s values of UNITY, ARMOR, and HONOR!
Together, as the 405th Infantry, we have the power to redirect this community towards a vibrant vision that initially drew us together in the first place. It is in this, that WE can cultivate a space where dreams are achieved, and our collective passion for Halo keeps us bound together.
In an Ode to Robert Crawford, “remember that facing challenges is a part of life, but defeat is a matter of choice”. Let’s meet our challenges with courage and determination, knowing that it is our unity that makes us strong.
