Selena Gomez channeled Cinderella while attending the Golden Globes 2025 with new fiancé Benny Blanco playing the role of prince on Sunday. Gomez wore a custom satin powder blue Prada ballgown with an apron skirt detail. Under that voluminous skirt, she wore satin pumps dyed to match, completing her vintage-tinged princess look with a diamond Tiffany necklace and ring.
During the host Nikki Glaser’s opening monologue, Blanco sat proudly by Gomez’s side in an off-white blazer and coordinating sequined top, laughing when Glaser congratulated them on their engagement before joking that, “Benny Blanco is here because of the genie that granted him that wish.”
Gomez is nominated in the best supporting female actor category for her work in Emilia Pérez, in addition to best female actor in a musical or comedy TV series in Only Murders in the Building—but she’s already won producer and cookbook author Blanco’s heart. The two began dating in July 2023 after a long friendship that included multiple musical collaborations. The pair kept it low-key, then went public with their romance in late 2023, with Gomez sharing smoochy photos of the two on her Instagram account to cement their relationship status.
In an interview with Vanity Fair in September 2024, Gomez said of Blanco, “I’ve never been loved this way,” calling him “a complete light in my life” and “my best friend.” And if the loud-and-proud PDAs didn’t make it apparent enough, in a May 2024 interview Blanco shared that he hoped they’d one day walk down the aisle. Host Howard Stern tossed out, “I’m predicting marriage,” after hearing details of the two’s Taco Bell–filled Valentine’s Day date.
“You and me both,” Blanco responded.
And, yes, the Taco Bell of romance did indeed toll again for the two: In December 2024, Gomez posted an Instagram carousel announcing their engagement, showing off not only her dazzling pear-shaped engagement ring, but also what appears to be a proposal picnic complete with Taco Bell Mexican pizzas. “Forever begins now,” she captioned the post.
Beyond her new status as bride-to-be, Gomez has plenty to celebrate. She has two Globes nominations of her own, and Only Murders in the Building has four, one for each of the show’s trio of co-leads and one for best musical or comedy television series; while her other project, Emilia Pérez, is the night’s most-nominated film, with 10 nods total, including best musical or comedy motion picture.
