Dinosaur Designs introduces Chestnut, the latest collection from creative directors and co-founders Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy. Inspired by the colour and form of a chestnut, the collection brings a soft, earthy palette of browns, creams and blacks to its handmade jewellery and homewares.

Echoing the chestnut’s rich earthy tones, Chestnut features syrupy swirls of cream and brown, punctuated by moments of golden brass. Every aspect of the chestnut, from its glossy, dark shell to its light, sweet kernel, is explored and captured in the collection.

Stacked bangles and beaded necklaces are the heroes of the jewellery collection; their smooth, organic shapes are hand -sanded and individual like the natural forms of chestnuts. The collection’s homewares likewise offer beautiful bold statements, exploring the chestnut through its tree-grown origins, with Branch Bowls, Rock Tower Tables and Valley Vases.

The Mountain Vases are a new addition to Dinosaur Designs signature vases, their beautiful organic silhouettes reminiscent of tree trunks and twisting branches.
Says Louise Olsen: “We love the idea of chestnut both as a colour and an object, and this collection explores these dimensions. We’re constantly inspired by nature, and Chestnut allowed us to build a rich story of organic shapes and hues from the shell to the kernel to the tree and earth it grew from.”

The Chestnut campaign, photographed by Jake Terrey, styled by Ilkin Kurt with videography by Claudia Rose, celebrates the collection’s exploration of colour and form. Model Emma Boyd brings her unique energy and dynamism to the campaign, seamlessly embodying the brand’s playful designs and bold silhouettes.
The Chestnut collection launches today (6 March 2025), in all Dinosaur Designs stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, New York and London and online.
