Florence Pugh’s boldness on the red carpet has always impressed me, though I typically find her wardrobe choices too daring. She often experiments with different styles, mixing feminine and edgy pieces, and constantly looks cool and chic!
Take, for example, her recent look at the special screening of her romantic comedy-drama movie “We Live in Time,” held at the Ham Yard Hotel in London.

The movie follows the decade-spanning relationship between former figure skater turned chef Almut Brühl (Florence Pugh) and divorcée Tobias Durand (Andrew Garfield).
It was released in the US in October and will open in theaters in the United Kingdom on January 1, New Year’s Day.
Regency Romance Meets Gothic Glam: Florence Pugh’s Daring Rodarte Look
Pugh, known for her bold and daring fashion choices, embraced her signature style by seamlessly blending Regency romance with a gothic edge. The look evokes a Bridgerton-inspired elegance infused with a touch of gothic allure.
She wore a black silk charmeuse and lace bias dress from the Spring/Summer 2025 collection of the Queens of American Couture, Rodarte.
It has a lingerie-inspired bodice with a ruched frill trim along the drawstring neckline. Although I’m not a fan of puff cap sleeves, I adore how they draw attention to Pugh’s broad shoulders. It also has an intricate lace insert below the bust, which enhances its whimsical, gothic allure and adds an interesting accent to the rather straightforward silhouette.

Florence’s dress embodies Rodarte’s whimsical and romantic style, which is adored by the brightest stars in Hollywood. Kristen Dunst, for example, wore a sleek black Rodarte dress with a lace-trimmed velvet bodice at the Civil War LA premiere.
On the other hand, Natalie Portman looked whimsical in a sheer floral-embroidered mini dress at the 2016 Gotham Independent Film Awards.
Bold Black Accessories That Elevate Florence Pugh’s Gothic Style
Florence Pugh wore black accessories selected by her trusted stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, to enhance the look’s sensual, gothic vibe.
She donned the Heaven Mayhem “Alma” earrings in gold hardware with black velvet fabric inlays. These earrings have two connected pieces that dangle elegantly and sway with each movement.
I love how Florence drew attention to her outfit by leaving her neck bare. She also eschewed sparkling bracelets and rings for heels adorned with crystals.
Florence wore “Slow Kisses” sandals by Aquazzura, made in Italy from black grosgrain with a black chiffon upper. The shoes were crisscrossed, knotted, and dotted with sparkling rhinestones, adding to the ensemble’s high-gloss sheen.
They have rounded peep toes highlighting the actress’ black-pedicured feet, adjustable ankle straps, sturdy platforms, and towering 5-inch block heels, adding to Pugh’s 5’3” height. These sandals are available for $2,123 at Farfetch.

Edgy Glamour: Florence Pugh’s Signature Wet Hair and Smokey Eyes
Florence Pugh rounded out her stunning look with her signature edgy glam. She wore soft, rosy makeup with smokey gray eyeshadow created by Alex Babsky.
What I love most about this look is the contrast between the gorgeous dress and the edgy hairdo! With a softer hairdo, the ensemble would look like a classic vintage slip. But with her signature wet-look tousled hairstyle, done by Hyungsun Ju, the look turned edgy.

Can’t get enough of Florence Pugh in black gowns? See her wear a regal hooded gown by Valentino at the London premiere of Dune: Part Two.
Attending the house’s Spring/Summer 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week, she dressed elegantly in another Valentino masterpiece. Florence also highlighted her figure in a belted dress at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition preview in 2019.
