High street behemoth ZARA has opened its significantly upsized store in Liverpool ONE, Liverpool’s 1.65 million sq ft open-air shopping complex.
The 42,000 sq ft store at upper and lower South John Street has kicked off what is expected to be one of Liverpool ONE’s biggest years for store openings since its launch in 2008.
ZARA’s new store has increased 55% from 27,200 sq ft. The flagship offers a larger collection of ZARA menswear, womenswear and kidswear across two storeys. The flagship now offers self-service payment facilities.
Rob Deacon, Asset Management Director at Liverpool ONE, said: “Liverpool ONE is defined by its leading mix of brands and ability to deliver the best of the best, and the opening of ZARA’s significantly upsized regional flagship is the perfect example of this. Demand for Liverpool ONE is at an all-time high, with leading brands recognising its appeal as a destination for flagships and showcase spaces.
“2024 was a milestone year for big-name signings and 2025 will be our biggest year for openings yet, with Uniqlo, Sephora and TFG London set to make their debuts.”
ZARA’s new store is part of 135,000 sq ft of retail space at the centre that has been invested in by brands since the start of 2024.
In October, Uniqlo announced it would be opening a new 15,392 sq ft store at the shopping centre in spring 2025, as it continues its UK retail expansion.
COO of Uniqlo UK, Alessandro Dudech, said at the time: “Investing in Liverpool, a leading UK shopping destination, was a natural next step, and Liverpool ONE was the obvious choice given the unique opportunity to open a prominent showstopping space on Paradise Street.”
34 new brands invested in Liverpool ONE last year, including AllSaints, Curated Makers, and Noughts and Crosses. It has also served as home to many brands’ first foray into bricks-and-mortar, including Luxe Collective, Sisters & Seekers, and Glamify Fashion.
