Whenever I see products like the Fwee Pudding Pot
blow up on TikTok, I try to be a little skeptical. Of course, popular products are popular for a reason—but part of me can’t help but question if certain ones are actually as good as people say they are, or if it’s just another short-lived trend. On the other hand, I’m a longtime K-beauty stan, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued by its strangely unique texture and of course, the promise of blurry matte lips. So as an attempt to debunk any undeserved hype and because I couldn’t go to any store in Koreatown without running into one, I finally decided to try out the Fwee Pudding Pot for myself. (And spoiler alert, I was pleasantly surprised.)
If you’re an avid follower of makeup trends, you’ve definitely stumbled across the Fwee Pudding Pot. As much as I hate to judge a product on looks alone—Fwee absolutely killed it with the packaging. The adorable pot and matching keychain were pretty much made for TikTok montages and ASMR content. The Pudding Pot has become so much more than just a lip and cheek product, it’s truly an aesthetic experience—down to its name and marketing. Because of this, I wondered if its main purpose was to be a cute product to display and accessorize with, rather than an actual makeup product you find yourself constantly reaching for.
We all know TikTok has a bit of a longevity problem when it comes to trending products. And as a beauty-lover myself, it seems like there are tons of products cycling in and out of my For You Page at all times. But in all honestly, the Fwee Pudding Pot seemed right up my alley. Although I’ve favored lip glosses in the past, I’ve been obsessed with matte lips recently. Plus, who doesn’t love the concept of a multi-use product? And as someone who’s constantly on the search for my perfect blush shade, it seemed like a no-brainer.
How to Use the Fwee Pudding Pot
Like any viral product, the Fwee Pudding Pot boasts a couple optional accessories. Personally, I opted for the Fingerlike Silicone Lip Brush
for ease of application. Although the name is a little creepy (there’s something so gross about “fingerlike”), I couldn’t imagine applying the Pudding Pot without the brush. For lips, I lightly dipped my brush into the product and then used it to apply the color on to my lips, loading up my brush again if needed. I didn’t realize the Fingerlike Silicone Lip Brush was mostly meant for lips, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t clean it off and use it to apply it to my cheeks too. But honestly, putting some product on a clean knuckle before pressing it on to your cheek and blending it out with a sponge or your fingers is much more effective for blush application.
Our Fwee Lip & Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot Review
Beyond just being cute, the Fwee Pudding Pot isn’t half bad. My favorite part is how it really gives you that signature K-beauty matte blurry lips look. Not to mention, it’s pretty beginner-friendly which means you don’t have to spend tons of time applying it. The Fingerlike Silicone Lip Brush made application a breeze and unlike traditional brushes, I didn’t have to worry about it absorbing the product—so I could rest easy knowing I was genuinely using all of the product I put on my brush. Once applied, the color looks opaque yet natural. And even though it doesn’t exactly stain your lips, it’s pretty low maintenance and easy to reapply. Surprisingly, the formula feels moisturizing without sacrificing that chic matte finish. I found that when my lips need a little extra love because of the cold weather, I like topping the Pudding Pot off with a lip gloss or lip balm.
When it comes to blush, the Pudding Pot does everything it’s supposed to. I struggled in the past with cream blushes sliding off my cheeks or needing to be set with powder in order to stay put, but the Pudding Pot’s odd texture eliminated that problem completely. As someone with dry skin, the thought of using a “matte” blush scared me—but it’s actually way more comfortable than it sounds. In addition to looking gorgeously diffused on the skin, it stayed all day.
Although I gave into the keychain hype and got one for myself, repotting a product is just a bit too daunting for me personally. Sure it’s an adorable accessory that all of the K-beauty fans will immediately recognize, but it’s not a necessity in my eyes. It might be more to carry around, but I honestly don’t mind throwing one of the Pudding Pots and the brush into my makeup bag for touchups. I’ll do anything over having to stick your finger directly into the product.
As for shade range, Fwee really came in clutch with all of the cool-toned shades I’ve been craving. While I find that most Western blushes don’t have a big selection in undertones when it comes to blushes (most lean orangey and warm toned), Fwee has tons of shade options that I actually like. My personal favorites are Slayyy, Baby, Oh, and Without. They have around 30 shades to choose from, with everything from nude pinks to deep plums—so you’re sure to find a few you like too.
But for me, the most shocking thing about the Fwee Pudding Pot was its texture. Sure, I had doom-scrolled and watched tons of TikToks about the product—but nothing could’ve prepared me for my first time dipping into the pot. Like the name suggests, it literally bounces and squishes like pudding. Unlike most cream blushes that sometimes feel greasy, the Pudding Pot is light and airy. Once applied, the product definitely gives that blur powder finish that it claims, but it somehow feels hydrating on your lips and cheeks. I never knew such a thing was possible, but clearly it is.
