WGSN, the world’s leading consumer trend forecaster for the past 25 years, has announced Future Dusk as its 2025 colour of the year, in partnership with Coloro.

Future Dusk is a deep, moody hue, sitting between blue and purple. Offering a sense of mystery and intrigue, it is much darker than the many earthy hues and soft neutrals we often see in both interiors and fashion, but that is the uniqueness of it. It is predicted to be incorporated both into the clothes we wear, and the spaces we live in.
For interiors, this colour is perfect for smaller, more intimate spaces such as studies, media rooms, and even bedrooms.
Australian paint brand Wattyl have a number of colours similar to Future Dusk. This array of blues and purples are designed to complement any space.
If an entire wall is too much, purple can also be used as an accent colour on furniture and accessories. Below, is an example of the versatility of Wattyl’s Deepest Secret being used alongside red, orange and green. The colour creates a calming aura within the space, complimenting the other colours.

In bedrooms and bathrooms, purples can be used on walls, or in tile colour, bed linen, towels or cabinetry. The deep colour comes with a sense of luxurious modernity, looking simplistic and elegant.
