Candidate in current runoff who wants to “work for holiness and God’s will through politics..” is one step away from the Austin school board. Please go out there and vote.

Less than 0.3% of people have voted in this last runoff election going on RIGHT NOW which is terrifying. In 2016, current AISD runoff candidate Lindsey Stringer wrote an article in which she says to “Pray for our nation and for the right outcome. Work for holiness and God’s will through politics if called to it.”

This is nothing against religious folks or Christian’s but to me this sounds like she would prioritize her subjective interpretation of what “God” wants and implement policy’s to fit that narrative. It’s also telling that she has scrubbed the internet of most of her past and political views.

Her opponent, Fernando de Urioste, is a progressive endorsed by the Teachers Union, the Austin Chronicle, and Congressman Casar to name a few. His website www.fernandoforaisd.com lists his platform, Lindsey’s at www.lindseyforaisd.com (listing both to stay fair.)

We have a deeply religious potential policymaker trying to skirt in under the radar of a very low turnout election. Please go out there and vote just one more time. Polls are open 7-7 until the 10th (so go vote TODAY,) and your last chance to vote is 12/14. This election is citywide so just about everyone in Austin can vote and the city has 20 early voting g polling locations set up for this.
