OK, we can admit that here at theFashionSpot, we’ve become extremely critical of Prada’s advertising campaigns. You might not be able to blame us either. After all, the luxury Italian fashion brand’s mainline campaign imagery over recent seasons lensed by Willy Vanderperre hasn’t quite hit the spot. Prada co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons may have heard our pleas for change, enlisting Reto Schmid to capture the 2024 Prada Galleria handbag campaign. The Swiss photographer makes for a welcomed and refreshing change, pointing his lens toward Ella Rattigan, Ornella Umutoni, Amanda Murphy, and Lexi Boling. The cast of models pose within a cinema setting for the occasion, captured amidst a cinematic viewing experience while toting different variations of the Prada Galleria handbag, originally introduced in 2007.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“I like the mood, the retro vibe, and that it’s not a white background,” instantly approved kokobombon.
“The bag is super tacky, but campaign elevates it at its possible max” confessed TashaRose.
“This campaign is stunning,” raved Overindulgence. “The warmth and moodiness of this campaign is what Prada should be about. Happy to see that Prada can still give it!”
Sharing the same level of enthusiasm was vogue28. “This feels like classic Prada, I am loving this campaign imagery which takes me back to Prada circa 2008. A massive upgrade from recent campaigns. The mood here is lovely, love the muted color palette and the inclusion of Lexi Boling.”
“The shot with Lexi is very reminiscent of ‘Old Prada’,” Frederic01 echoed.
