After the whiff on Halloween, it’s take two on the rain chances. IANAM, but I’m super anxious about this one as I could see it being another miss. I’m like an Aggie football fan and can’t get my hopes up until it actually happens.
Through the afternoon it’s supposed to be like this with some spitting rain (classic Austin “rain”). Then some clearing this afternoon before a line comes through tonight and is supposed to backfill.
Here’s the thing — lakes seem like they will get very little no matter what. But this is a classic setup where there is no line of storms and then it pops up. The runs are showing this happening right over Austin. Those who know the rain dome know that always seems to actually happen just east of town.
If it happens 20 miles west, we’d all get a good drenching. If if happens 20 miles east, we are going to watch Bastrop get the rain (they need it too).
The official forecast is for around 0.75″-1.25″ but we are right on the edge of it. A small shift and most of us would get 0.1″ It’s looking like this will be 7-10 p.m.
