British menswear brand Charles Tyrwhitt has opened its 50th store at the Westquay shopping centre in Southampton.

The store is selling the brand’s signature formalwear and smart casualwear, ranging from shirts, suits, polos, knitwear, shoes and accessories.

One-to-one styling appointments are available and the store features Charles Tyrwhitt’s shirt and suit donation scheme as part of its ongoing commitment to extending the life of clothes.

Customers who bring in old shirts and suits, ‘Tyrwhitt or not’, will receive discounts. The scheme aims to raise over £3 million for the British Heart Foundation.

Chief Marketing Officer at Charles Tyrwhitt, Joe Irons, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening our newest store in the heart of Southampton. This new store marks a significant step in our journey to connect with more customers across the UK, offering them exceptional service, timeless style, and high quality products.

“Southampton is an ideal location for the 50th Charles Tyrwhitt store due to its vibrant economy, rich cultural heritage, and status as a key shopping destination on the south coast.

Charles Tyrwhitt, which was founded by entrepreneur Nick Wheeler in Bristol in 1986, opened its 10th new store in 18 months in Belfast at the end of August, which quickly followed a new store opening in Cheltenham on 14 August.

In April 2024, it opened its new flagship store at 218 Regent Street in London, set over two floors in a fully renovated grade-listed building. That replaced the old Charles Tyrwhitt location at 90 Regent Street.

Other recent store openings have included London’s Cannon Street, Victoria, Guildford, Milton Keynes, Reading, Chelmsford and Bristol.
