Day to day, Zendaya is rarely seen without a Louis Vuitton bag on her shoulder – as you might expect, considering she’s been an ambassador for the French fashion house since 2023. Now, she’s added a new style to her collection, which might well pique the interest of vintage obsessives.
Ahead of the Gotham Awards in New York on Monday night (which saw Zendaya take to the red carpet in a custom LV gown), the actor was spotted with the new Louis Vuitton X Murakami side trunk in the brand’s familiar multi-coloured monogram from the early Noughties. The style is part of a re-edition collection of the popular collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, which debuted on the catwalk as part of Marc Jacobs’s collection for the brand for spring/summer 2003.
More than two decades on, that collaboration is just as coveted as ever among collectors – with the likes of Rihanna, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner all being proud owners of the limited-edition bags. Still, the white monogram print – as seen on the likes of Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and Naomi Campbell back in the day – has remained largely under the radar, until now.
With Zendaya’s seal of approval (she’s also endorsed the Neverfull and Diane), Louis Vuitton X Murakami’s white monogram is set to be everywhere in 2025. While the re-edition collection isn’t launching until January (naturally Z gets first dibs), you can get in there early by investing in one of the OG Murakami bags – and watch its value rise.
