hi austin redditors, i made a post a few days ago asking whether or not i should get barbecue during my layover. thanks for all of the feedback! i’ll give a play by play breakdown of what i did and how my timing went in case anyone else wants to do the same. i landed in austin at 10am, and went STRAIGHT to the ride share/taxi pickup area. i was pretty insistent on getting good barbecue because i had also been to franklin before. i wanted to compare whatever place i had chosen to my experience there. i ended up going to la barbecue, and got in line around 10:20. by some miracle, i was second in line. i got my food at 11:00 opening, and i was out by 11:35. i reached the austin airport by 11:50 and was through security by 12:20, which gave me a spare 2.5 hours to sit at a bar, have a beer, and watch some football before my flight boarded at 2:50. i’d like to thank everyone in the subreddit who offered their thoughts or feedback! i hope this post was helpful to anyone who’s laying over in austin or anyone who’s considering getting food before a hectic thanksgiving weekend flight in the future. i hope to be back for a more extensive trip soon 🙂 submitted by /u/thedominicklepickle |
