Moana 2 post-credits scene, explained

Moana 2 has finally arrived in cinemas, with the follow-up to one of our all-time favourite Disney films well and truly delivering on addictive new songs, compelling storytelling and vitally, some much appreciated Hei Hei screen time.

But if like us, you’ve been eagerly awaiting return of Moana, Maui and co and are now left wondering whether you’ll be getting one last hit of goodness in the form of a Moana 2 post-credits scene, you’ve come to the right place.

So if you’ve made it through all the film’s hits from the stunning ‘Get Lost’ to the insanely emotional ‘Mana Vavau’ and are now figuring out whether to stay put in the cinema for one final tidbit, we have good news and bad news.

Is there a Moana 2 post-credits scene?

Ok, so following that dramatic Moana 2 ending, we can confirm that the film does in fact feature a credits scene. But hear us out, because it’s not technically a post-credits.

Instead, there’s a mid-credits scene that serves the very same purpose – make sure you stick around for this!

ICYMI though, the Moana 2 mid-credits scene focuses on Nalo (God of storms), Matangi (controller of bats) and Tamatoa (who needs no reintroduction), with this scene seeming to hint at what we can expect from Moana 3 if and when it arrives.

While Disney are yet to confirm anything, we can’t help but feel like there’s still a lot more of this story to be told. Given that Moana 2 was initially meant to be a Disney+ series we also feel pretty confident that we’ll be getting some more Moana content eventually, whether in the form of another film or perhaps even a series. Either way, there’s plenty of loose ends from this scene that need tying up!
