Hi All. We did the turkey trot for the first time this year. Well, sort of. We got there late because they closed the Palmer Events Center parking garage about 6 cars in front of us so we had to find an alternative, which ended up being a street spot near starbucks.
We had to turn left to get into the line for the Palmer Garage, and I think if we had come from the other direction, there would have been way less traffic and we would have gotten there sooner because it would have been a right turn into Palmer. Did anyone come from S. 1st and have more luck either parking at Palmer or the bat lot?
Also a tip for the walkers if you’re coming from the Long Center to the starting line, make sure you go to the right of the running lane to get across the bridge. Don’t take the pedestrian bridge that is on the left because we had to go all the way back around, and between that and the parking, we didn’t make it in time for the 10:20 walker deadline. (Although we ended up having walked 2 miles after it was all over lol)
Hope all that info is helpful! I’d love to hear how everyone else did it so we’ll be better prepared next year.
