Between her green silk trousers, baggy T-shirt, and oversized grey cardigan, Holmes chose the comfiest option for every individual element of her look, especially when it came to picking from her growing collection of extra large jackets.
For this outing, Holmes opted for a long black teddy coat with a warm brown suede lining that has secured a spot right next to Gigi Hadid’s Guest In Residence Grizzly Wash Coat on my winter wish list. While the classic wool topcoat is definitely on trend and Holmes-approved, I can’t help but cheer on the blanketification of outerwear.
While Holmes is clearly prioritizing comfort for her commute, she didn’t reach for the most obvious finishing touch. Instead of opting for a pair of Uggs, or even the velvet slipper shoes that she wore a few days earlier, the 45-year-old added structure to her laissez-faire ensemble with a classic loafer that further elevates her entire ‘fit.
Every aspect of this outfit is luxurious enough to wear outside the house but Katie Holmes unexpected choice of footwear tells us the actor was on her way to work, not getting ready for bed. That being said, while it may not be appropriate to walk around the streets of New York with a comforter wrapped around her shoulders, Katie Holmes found a way to do the next best thing—and you can too.
