Eliza Smoothey from Eliza Grace Interiors recently helped some retirees furnish and decorate their beautiful four-bed apartment in Scarborough QLD. With a brief to create a sophisticated coastal style reflecting a relaxed, calm and welcoming environment, the couple decided against a TV and instead everything is about those ocean views!
The couple have plenty of visitors, including their grandchildren, who they want to feel at home.
“I love that we oriented the spaces to capitalise on the beautiful ocean views. The clients opted for no TV so the sofa faces the water with plenty of seating for friends and family to gather around,” says Eliza.
“I also love the piano space with two cosy occasional chairs that you can relax in while someone serenades you with music.”
The spaces are neutral with subtle pops of colour and contrast to create a luxurious look. The home is designed to blend seamlessly with everyday life; perfect for gathering with friends and family. Ultimately, the couple wanted a tasteful home with good quality pieces, designed for longevity. And they certainly got that!
Furniture was mostly chosen from GlobeWest, Satara, Freedom, Jardan and Nick Scali.
Eliza started her business 12 years ago and describes her signature look as light, feminine and classic. “I work with clients in the inner city Brisbane suburbs who are busy professionals with families that value having a beautiful home, but don’t have the time (or patience) to do it themselves.”
