Glenn Martens is the latest designer to join H&M’s hall of fame

Global retailer H&M has today announced that its next designer collaboration comes in the form of a “landmark partnership with Glenn Martens”. What can we expect? Designer denim galore.

The Belgian-born designer is known for testing the boundaries between streetwear and couture. He will bring his creative vision to H&M for Autumn 2025.

Glenn Martens is currently serving as Diesel’s Creative Director, a role he has been in since 2020. Martens has built a reputation for denim innovation since 2013 when he began his career at Jean Paul Gaultier.  He joined Diesel from Parisian brand Y/Project where he served as Creative Director.

In 2017, Martens won the ANDAM award, of which Diesel’s parent company, OTB, is one of the historical supporters, and in 2018 he was one of the guest designers of Diesel’s experimental capsule series Diesel Red Tag.

From Jimmy Choo to Paco Rabanne, H&M has collaborated with some of the most sought-after luxury brands of the century. First collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004, the H&M collaborative collections have become sellouts ever since, with shoppers camping outside stores to get their hands on designer pieces for less.

The last collaboration saw H&M partner with Anamika Khanna on a collection that merges “Indian craftsmanship with a contemporary aesthetic”.

Earlier this month, in celebration of 20 years since H&M’s first creative union with Karl Lagerfeld, H&M launched the Pre-Loved Archive collection. For those who didn’t get a chance to snap up their favourite designer collaborations at launch, now was their time.

This series of limited-edition re-releases offers shoppers the opportunity to purchase iconic pre-loved items from the brand’s back catalogue including collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Kenzo and more.
