Jennifer Lopez is embracing a new chapter in her life, and according to some sources, this means already ready to explore the dating scene again following her recent split from Ben Affleck.
“Obviously she’s showing Ben what he’s missing,” an insider recently shared with In Touch. “She’s never looked—or felt—better, and she’s ready to date again.”
While some might raise eyebrows at the timing—it’s been less than three months since the 55-year-old filed for divorce from Affleck—those closest to Lopez appear supportive of her moving forward. According to a recent report by Entertainment Tonight, “Jen’s friends and family want to see her get out there again and finally get her happily ever after.”
However, the “Jenny from the Block” singer is probably taking a more measured approach to romance this time around. In a revealing conversation with Interview magazine in October 2024, Lopez opened up about where she stood on the idea of dating again post-divorce.
“I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill,” she reflected. “And it’s just like, ‘No, I’m actually good.’” The star candidly admitted that her split from Affleck hit hard, sharing that it felt like her “whole f—ing world exploded.”
“You have to be complete, if you want something that’s more complete,” she told Interview. “You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t.”
While it sounds like J-Lo isn’t looking to jump into anything serious right now, one source tells In Touch that Lopez is “looking to have some fun,” suggesting that “she’s on the prowl again.” The insider added that after initially being “devastated” by the breakup, “something shifted. She picked herself up and decided to move on. No more sulking.”
Lopez has never shied away from pursuing love, having previously been married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony, along with high-profile relationships with Alex Rodriguez and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Earlier this year, she described herself as “more of a love addict or a workaholic than everything else.”
As for Affleck? He appears to be on a similar page regarding moving forward. An insider told Entertainment Tonight that while “Ben has other priorities that are more important…he’s open to [dating].”
For now, Lopez seems focused on personal growth and healing. As she told Interview, “There’s no arrival point. There’s only getting better and growing if you want to. It’s either growing or dying, and I don’t want to do the dying part.”
