My brother was cleaning out my recently deceased uncle’s belonging and came upon a pair of boots with nails driven through the fonts of the soles. Has anyone seen this before? Any special purpose? Or just some oddity never seen and with nothing behind it? Both sides have them and the sile seems solidly attached (so presumably not a quick fix). Boots have laces but zipper on the side. My uncle was in the Army..but pretty sure zippered boots weren’t authorized when I served. Also thought…
