George at Asda to roll out Gym Locker activewear range following trial

George at Asda is rolling out its Gym Locker activewear range to 50 stores following a successful online trial in autumn 2024.

Described as “an affordable answer to high quality, contemporary athleisure” for both women and men, the collection comprises cream, mauve, and muted grey “timeless pieces” that are designed to be worn both in and out of the gym.

Starting from just £7 and available in sizes XS through to XXL, the range includes oversized hoodies, crop tops, four styles of sculpted leggings and accessories, with a focus on durability, flexibility and comfort.

Made from ‘Power Performance’ and ‘Skin Fabric’ material, the “squat-proof” leggings are designed to withstand the rigours of deep squats and stretches and feature moisture-wicking properties.

The contouring capability of the fabrics also offers a flattering fit that moulds to the body, providing gentle compression and support while enhancing natural curves for unrestricted motion without bunching or sagging.

A spokesperson for George at Asda said: “Since we rolled out the online trial of Gym Locker last autumn, we have seen an unprecedented uplift from our customers seeking out and buying into sportswear.

“From the rise of everyday athleisure to high performing products which will support and elevate their exercise routines, our customers have shown us that they’re on the lookout for products which look great, perform, whilst not breaking the bank.

“This last year we have worked hard to grow the collection and are proud that Gym Locker will now be available in 50 stores and george.com with further drops planned for later in the year and beyond.”
