Glass Bauble Nails Are The Prettiest Way To Wear Your Christmas Mani

If you’re still looking for inspo for your Christmas mani, there’s one trend you should definitely consider before your salon visit. We keep spotting glass bauble nails on our social feeds and honestly – they’re perhaps the most mesmerising and beautiful way to add a magical sparkle to your fingertips for the most wonderful time of the year.

What are glass bauble nails?

Like the name suggests, glass bauble nails replicate the look of traditional glass Christmas tree baubles. The look is slightly different from a regular chrome or glazed nail, since the shine should look like it comes from within (rather than on top) and it should have a mega mirror-like finish that reflects beautifully in those twinkly Christmas tree lights.

How to do glass bauble nails?

This does require some pro gel formulas, although you could have a go at recreating it yourself with regular glitter and coloured polishes at home. Chrome dust, traditionally in silver or gold, is applied first to a bare base (or you can apply a dark colour as a first step to make the chrome stand out even more). Then, a sheer high-shine polish in your colour of choice should be applied on top. A slightly jelly finish will add shine and allow the chrome powder beneath to glow through for an even more magical look.

How to wear glass bauble nails?

One of the most popular (and beautiful) ways to wear the trend is with a classic red, but we’ve also seen it worn with deeper wine shades, silky pinks and sugar plum purples. Here’s some of our favourite ways to tap into the trend…

Mulled wine glass bauble nails

This looks rich, sexy, sultry and expensive. The deep mulled wine shade adds a little extra warmth and spice instead of holly red, but it still feels perfect for Christmas.
