Australian luxury fashion brand Camilla, best known for its hand-drawn prints and embellishments, has launched its first women’s denim collection.
The collection has been crafted in collaboration with a premium denim manufacturer in Turkey, and key pieces include the ‘Jenna Soul Seeker High Waisted Flare Jean’ – a silhouette designed to elongate the legs. They come with braided pockets and crystal motifs.
There’s also the straight leg mid-rise ‘Milla Mystic Monogram Girlfriend Jean’ in washed blue with shimmering adornments, the ‘Milla Sacred Symbols Girlfriend Jean’, which comes in a relaxed mid-rise straight fit complete with Egyptian-inspired motifs, a standout denim trench coat, and a long denim skirt.
Camilla Franks, founder and Creative Director of Camilla, said: “I have been dreaming of my first denim collection for what feels like forever. I wanted every element to be perfect. Every aspect has received meticulous attention: from the selection of sustainable denim to the cut, right through to the bespoke embroidery and hand applied embellishments.
“This is deliciously decadent denim, drenched in all the signatures of my brand. These pieces are completely unique. I promise, you will have never seen anything like them.
“I’ve collaborated with my talented team to craft some seriously sumptuous denim, overflowing with the enchantment of my brand – think hand-applied crystals, bespoke embellishments, and those opulent, limited-edition flourishes.
“I’m excited to introduce the world to our unique take on denim and to continue expanding our collection in unexpected ways. Securing top tier materials for sustainable denim was non-negotiable, thankfully we found the perfect partner who resonates with our essence and has brought my vision to life.”
Camilla was launched with a theatrical runway show at Australian Fashion Week in 2004 “designed to disrupt the industry”. It has since evolved into a global print house and luxury brand with collections now sold in 55 countries across the globe.
Prints are hand-drawn and painted by in-house artists, pieces cut and sewn by hand, and every embellishment is “applied with exquisite precision”.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary year in October, Camilla reintroduced two iconic prints as part of its ‘Heritage’ collection, ‘Jaguar’ and ‘Land of Wonder’ from the archive. The renowned prints featured in the brand’s swim and resort categories, home to a combination of old, classic and new signature styles.
While the brand is sold in the likes of Harrods and via Net-A-Porter in the UK, the new denim collection will be available exclusively on the Camilla website, with retail prices ranging from £553 to £1,571.
