2024 Philly Holiday Guide1

2024 Philly Holiday Guide. With Christmas just 4 days away I figure why not share a little holiday guide to Philly. In an ideal world I would have hit up more locations but I feel like these 5 will do. Whether you are a Philly native or aspiring to visit, be sure to save this post for the holidays.

Christmas Village

Christmas Village is an authentic open-air German-style holiday market located at Love Park ad City Hall. I try to get to Christmas Village each year. This is the first year that I took advantage of what it really has to offer thanks to a last minute campaign. I took my daughter Cora on the carousel and train. Somehow I managed to skip out on the Ferris wheel due to logistics of us having our stroller but otherwise always recommend a Ferris wheel ride.

Yuletide Festival

Now this was a new one to me this year and I can say that we absolutely loved it! There are two locations, Devon and Liberty Hill. They are not located in the city of Philly but about a 20-25 minute drive from the city. Tickets start at $23 and the rides are included in your ticket price. There are also other things to do for purchase such as ice skate, play games, shop, eat and drink. You can also get photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus does readings in her library.

The Wanamaker Building

Inside of the Wanamaker Building you will find Macy’s. The highlight during the holiday season is definitely the light show which happens at 10:30am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. You can also check out the window displays all outside of the building. These are two things that will cost you absolutely nothing!

Tinsel

Located at 116 S 12th St, Tinsel is always a favorite of mine. It’s a pop up bar so it changes with the seasons. During Halloween it’s decorated with all this Halloween and is called “Nightmare Before Tinsel.” Since I’m a Christmas girlie, I have to say that when it is decorated for Christmas it’s truly my favorite. Don’t forget to try the delicious holiday cocktails and mocktails.

Fashion District

Let’s start with the fun fact: Fashion District Philadelphia has Philly’s only a full time Black Santa. Representation matters and I just love my kids being able to see all the Santas. Pro tip, I always enter on the side closest to 9th and Arch. Register now for photos until Christmas. You can also enjoy all of the holiday decorations located throughout the mall.

I hope y’all enjoy this holiday guide around Philly. I will visit different places next year to be able to add onto this list. Wishing you all a happy holiday!
